On May 11. 2019, Alisa was selected for higher education; The AKC Canine Good Citizen's training. She has completed a 6 week obedience class prior to Be A Good Dog University's visit to the Sedalia, Missouri Animal Shelter and she qualifies to further her training in the CGC program, handled by Be A Good Dog University's Risa!

On May 18, 2019, Risa picked up Alisa for a Field Trip out of the kennel to get a broader picture of her skills and determine where she needs more work. Here is Risa's report:

"Today, i planned to take Alisa out on a day trip. When I arrived at the Pettis Co Animal Shelter her kennel was being cleaned and she waa outside in the play yard with another dog. When she made eye contact with me she instantly got very excited and jumped repeatedly up and down approximately 6-7 feet high and bark. I said, "Alisa Down" she stopped jumping" then, I said "Alisa, shhhh" and she stopped barking. Her manners were very good. Upon leaving, i placed a harness on her and leash, we walked in the grass, I told her to "go potty" and she urinated. I praised her! I placed her in the car, secured her with a doggy seat belt and placed the window down for her to enjoy the breeze. She loved the drive. Our 1st stop was a visit at Long John Silvers to visit my daughter. Alisa was very happy to meet her. Very friendly. 2nd stop was Tractor Supply. Alisa was easily distracted by the multiple smells so i focused on walking in the middle of the aisle and she met an elderly man. She sat and he pet her. She met a little girl who gave her a hug and a young lady. Alisa was very friendly and had very good manners. She was able to heel, sit, down, wait, stay with me and watch me during this visit with little redirection when distracted. After Tractor Supply we headed to Clover Dell Doggy Park, She ran and ran! When i called "heel" she charged for me and came straight by my side. She was absolutely amazing good! She had such a fun day!"

Alisa will be given plenty of opportunities to continue her education. Be sure to check back for all her updates!
